After the restrictions we have experienced worldwide due to COVID-19, studies confirm that people have increasingly turned to the outdoors. Where to go in Chilean Patagonia?
Column by Josefina Hudson, commercial manager of Parque Bahía Esperanza.
Various studies have shown that people, worried about their well-being, have tended to turn to nature as their daily lives recover from the pandemic. Whether it’s for health issues, stress management, and the search for more rest, people have increased their exposure to the outdoors and their connection with the environment.
Likewise, the pandemic has attracted new participants to outdoor life, which has meant that it is no longer considered exclusive, inviting more people to carry out outdoor activities.
However, the lack of information about where to go, how to participate in outdoor activities, and with whom, can be a barrier for those who seek to connect -or disconnect- in a different way. Therefore, it is important to know the existence of easily accessible spaces that offer a variety of activities for all types of public.
Why visit Parque Bahía Esperanza?
Bahía Esperanza is a park located just 15 minutes from Puerto Natales, a congregant and central city of Chilean Patagonia, being the access road to Torres del Paine National Park and the port for boats that cross the fjords of Patagonia.
The activities that can be carried out in the park are innumerable, and people of all ages are invited to participate in them. From guided or self-guided trekking through the different trails of the park, horseback riding with views of the Patagonian fjords, or even e-bike rides discovering routes and landmarks typical of the place.
The connection with nature is characteristic of the park. This is home to more than 40 species of birds, different mammals hidden in the forests, and thousands of trees and flowers that invite you to disconnect from the routine.
And to be even more in tune with what the park offers, there is the option of staying at Bahía Esperanza House, which is reserved with all-inclusive service, guaranteeing a unique experience in a private country house. This includes the entrance to the park, all the comforts of home, meals and beverages, snacks, all guided activities, and round-trip transfers (Puerto Natales airport – park).
Bahía Esperanza is a unique park in the heart of Chilean Patagonia that offers incredible experiences, different from those usually offered in the area, which combines the adrenaline with the natural, surrounded by wildlife and by the most characteristic of the Patagonian ecosystem.
